Rocket Fuel ONLY!
Just about every diecast manufacturer out there has issued an Olds-from the Super 88, Toronado, Cutlass to the 442. In 1949 Olds introduced their Rocket engine, which used an overhead valve V8 design rather than the flathead "straight-8". Hot rodders and stock car racers picked up on it right away, as the Rocket V8 endured until Olds redesigned their V8 engines in the mid-1960s. Founded by Ransom E. Olds in 1897 (and surviving a 107-year history), Oldsmobile produced 35.2 million cars, including 14 million built at it's Lansing, Michigan factory. When it was phased out in 2004, Oldsmobile was the oldest surviving American automobile marque, and one of the oldest in the world, after Daimler and Peugeot.
